  • The Bi-Annual Update

It's HORRIBLE how little I blog these days or rather months.

Once again, it's the bi-annual blog entry for me to try and dig out anything remarkable that ought to be penned down.

In this month of march is quite an interesting + birthday filled one! Firstly, I've tendered my resignation and decided to end my what seemed like 5 years long, 8 months stint in Ogilvy and Mather. I'm not ready as a PM and feels like I need much more training before I can fully equip myself in this role. And to be honest, I miss production, I miss filming, I miss crazy hours! I'm not complaining about my 9-5 job (on average, it has became 9:30 - 11pm, it's crazy). I'm happy with the moolah, I'm happy with colleagues around me, I love the department I'm working in, I'm happy with the 'freedom'. But the stress and workload has been taking its toll on me. So currently, I'm serving my 1 month notice, but I'm glad to know that they would still open their arms to me if I ever consider joining back. But just as now when I'm serving my notice, work has quieten down ALOT, I think it's what the advertising peeps call it, off peak period. Geez! But most importantly, I'm gonna miss a ALOT of peeps around here balls!

March also saw me visiting the doctor for the long awaited thyroid check that I've been avoiding for years all because of my Typanophoia. Boy was it a drama visit! Thank god The BF was there to accompany me. I blardy cried. YES. Damn it. It didn't hurt bad, but I still can't lift the phobia off me. Anyway, the results are out. It's positive. I have Hypo Thyroid. Boohoo. However, that doesn't bring my morale down! (To admit, it did for a couple of days) Will be taking a full body checkup some time in May as well as a test again to see if the thyroid level goes down.

March was also Mumsy, Twins, Karen, Matt, Erwan and Erwin's bday too! Had a celebration @ Hard Rock Hotel @ RWS for the twins bday.

    Us @ Twinsys's wedding

Jass (my qing ai de) & I

    Us @ Karen's 21, i mean, 31. LOL

    Erwan's 24th

March was also a concert month too! Slash came for the 2nd time! Together with Stone Temple Pilots. Bought The BF and myself a treat for a rock-smacking cat A tickets! And BEST of it all, took 2 pictures with Myles Kennedy!!!!!!! I was star-smittened!

    the tix

I took a nice picture for the bf.....

....and he gave me a blurry one -_- BUT IT'S A MILLION DOLLAR PICTURE!

    Us, in love. =D

OH!! Not forgetting, The Lion King! Had free tickets to The Lion King Musical thanks to Sis! Went with Angela and my parents and we had AWESOME seats! The show was great and a trip down memory lane too! You've just gotta love Zazu, the Hyenas, Timon and Pumbaa!

Feb = CNY! It was a o-kay CNY, the same thing every year. Genting was also in our intinerary for Feb! 3D2N in Genting, tho' a short and nearby trip, I did enjoy myself! We also won money in the casino, something rare for the both of us! So I would safely say, the whole trip was pretty much paid for!

Somewhere along Jan - March was also a BUSY WORK Month! Crazy.hectic.no-fun.

Totally looking forward for the new 5 month adventure of mine back in the production line, specifically, Art D. And come september, would be possibly the trip of the year, 21-27 Sept = Phuket!

It's gonna be an abrupt end now for it's LunchTime!

    See you in a bit!

  • A Walk down Memory Lane

Since I've time in the office now, I think it's only best that I start to jot down what has been happening to me before all memories deposits somewhere in my brain that only stores but doesn't restore.

Well, life's been really awesome after april as well! Been on countless production jobs, of one the most recent, The Amazing Race Asia! That was a BALL of crazy hectic fun! This year, I would suggest that it would have been a opportunity-to-stay-in-good-hotels-year! Lol! I wouldn't pay exuberant prices to stay in all these hotels! All thanks to twins that I got to stay in Resorts World Singapore's Hotel Michael! For the fact that is free, I've got NOTHING to complain! The thing I love most is, the toileteries! LOL! It's all Bvlgari! Muahahahaha!

Got to stay in Marina Bay Sand as well! Once for work and once cos Dee had a free one night stay and went there to accompany her during the night! MBS is spectacular, on the 57th floor I mean. For work, I've got to stayed in their Hospitality Suites, Horizon and Atrium Grand and Deluxe! So much that I'm actually quite sick of going to MBS already. Due to the fact that I've signed a Non Disclosure Agreement, I cannot divuldge much information until it's time to. Muahahaha

OH! And Capella Singapore! Was baby sitting for 2 days in their villa for 2 very nice Aussie couples! OMG! Their kids are SOOOO adorable and easy to take care of! Got to order the most expensive Nasi Goreng (Malay fried rice) @ SGD32!! CRAZY but oh so delicious! The lest oily version of what you'd get in your friendly neighbourhood!

Enough of hotel stays! Anyway, Justin and I will be turning 3 this 27th! And we'll be crashing Je's 'pre-nastionalservice trip' to Genting/KL. Taking it as a short getaway!

Right now, I'm actually working in the Events team in Singapore Tatler, Edipresse Group. And tomorrow's my last day.. Hahaha. It's fun, relaxed environment, but event's not my thing! thank god it's only part time! Will be starting my job as a Project Manager on the 13th (next week) with O&M (Ogilvy & Mather)! I'm pretty excited for that! All my free lance friends especially Karen kept mentioning that I've joined the Dark Side! lol Usually we're working FOR the client, now I'm going over to client's side! Come 13th will officially end my freeandeasylance life! Sigh, had a party/chalet for that! Will definitely miss free lancing! All the people I meet, all the experiences I'm gonna miss! this year in terms of free lance, I really did had a fairly good amount of jobs! Bollywood, TARA, TVCs, Corporate Videos, Dramas, Movies, Prints!! Sighhhh!! Oh well, I'll definitely be back in Free Lance! Need to build up my finances for now and save up for cpf.

Justin and I have been in plans of looking out for places to stay but nothing really satisfy our taste buds as of yet as they are all located tooooo far!

Shit, my entry is really getting very dry! But oh wells, it's for me to 'note', so in years to come when I read back, this will probably keep me sane and remind me that 'DAMN! 2010 was an AWESOME year!'

    Till then,

  • Wow. It's been that long huh? What can I say. 2010 has been a BLAST for me so far and lots of changes has been made in my life!

From the start of twenty10, it's goodbye good ol Westwood Crescent and hell(breakloose)ooo Strathmore Avenue. It's been great staying here so far albeit smaller, and not having my personal toilet in my room, the whole new look of having a 'new' room, and the fact that I stay 10 mins away from town is the PLUS point! Going back isn't sucha pain anymore, meeting up with friends isn't hard anymore, driving to the airport isn't that bad anymore! (=

Okay, mummy told me to be humble. Anyway, besides the change in my address, this year, my phone sees many more new contacts and new friends! At the start of the year, somewhere after CNY, I was working as a wardrobe assistant for a friend as a favour for a local episodic english drama, Fighting Spiders 2, and that brought me nearer to my goals of being a part in Production. Okay, till today, I have yet settle what I really want to do? But tentatively, I really wanna be a good production manager! I may look like I'm directionless, but nope, I want to be sure what I really like to do. It maybe art direction, it maybe directing, it may be producing, it may be 'gripping'! I mean, I'm still young and I don't wanna restrict myself! (= Point clear! ANYWAY, back to fighting spiders and meeting people, yes, fighting spiders was a damn.fun. set I was in. And it saw me through many nights of fun!

With all the wrap parties over and done with, was our Shortfilm Checkmate night! I PM(prod manager)-ed for a shortfilm named Checkmate some time late last year and 2 months ago was the Panasonic Film Fiesta Awards Ceremony Night. GUESS WHAT, Checkmate bagged home with 4 out of 7 awards! There was a total of 9 other short films! We couldn't believe it when we won 4 fucking awards!!! Those who didn't catch it, this is the link - http://www.panasonic.com.sg/broadcast/DFF10/films.htm We had the Online Audience Favourite Film Award, Aprostophe Films Most Promising Film Maker Award, Best Film and Best Cinematography!

Recently, I also help out in Art Department for a TVC and right now, I'm working on a Malay Film and just got back from a 10 days shoot from Batam, and will commence shoot on the 26th again!

It's really been an exciting 1st quarter of the year for me!

Justin and I have been doing great as well! We're closer to our goals now!

I've met alot of great people in my life as well and it's amazing how much we can click. I really treasure all i have and I'll try not to lose it!

It's funny how I feel like this blog is my best friend and I'm updating it my life? Really, it's just amazing and it'll never forget what I say and it's always there for me to read my past! It's been 8 years, I hope I can keep it up thought now it has been mouldy for awhile! Muahahaha

    Till than,

  • There's something that disgusts me of late and I've been seeing it on the newspaper pretty often. Teachers + student issues. Don't get me wrong here, I have friends who are teachers (government & private) and I'm not hating them neither my teachers from school. I even have a teacher whom I respect alot, who's married to his ex-student! Hey, at least he drew that line, and things only happen YEARS after she graduated. BUT, I'm disgusted to see how teachers these days do stuff that are beyond what words can explain! They are suppose to be a 'living example'. Who we are today are really 50% what our teachers mould us into! What they say or do are impactful in our lives! I can't believe how some can really just take up the career just so they can con some young girls out there! Sigh. Sometimes I wonder, HOW many out there will still be a teacher if there's a major pay cut across singapore for ALL Teaching Staffs. Where's the passion?

Anyway, don't really wish to talk about that anymore.

On the lighter note, 13th November saw the birth of Ariel Noe Lambert, son of Rubes & Pierre's. Oh boy is he a sweetie pie! Can't get enough of him each time I see him! Technically, 3 times and he's 10 days old now!

There's actually alot of things I wanted to blog about! But somehow. . . . I don't remember what it is. LOL

    Will post some pictures!

Did I mention? I sprained my ankle couple of weeks back! Recovering well now.

My 1st successful attempt in Muah Chee. (Muah Chee is a Chinese specialty snack eaten throughout Southeast Asia. It is a boiled gooey rice dough cut into small pieces and coated with finely chopped peanuts and sugar.)

My 1st successful attempt in Kuih kosui . Kuih Kosui is a saucer shaped rice cake flavored with pandan (screwpine leaves) juice. A lot of pandan is used to bring out the aroma of this kuih. A good kuih kosui is rich in pandan aroma and have a springy and soft texture. It is best eaten with freshly grated coconut.

Below are pictures of Baby Ariel!

Yours truly holding on to Ariel who's only a few hours old!

    "Salut!"

Not looking happy that I've been snapping him all morning! HAHA

Paid him a visit a couple of days later! Acting all shy! HAHAHA

It's a feeling you can't describe when you see babies sleeping!

With his eyes all open! GAHHH! I miss him alr!

  • I'm still pretty much jobless! But I'm currently free-lancing for Justin. That's if he has PA jobs for me. And on the other hand, I'm really focusing on baking well. I had a talk with Justin lately in regards to Good vs Great. And I've decided, I can be good at ALOT of things and still keep it that way, but I wanna be great at one thing. Being that baking is really close to my heart. I've decided to learn to be great at that. He is willing to give his full support and I'm really happy. Yesterday was his birthday, but we didn't get to celebrate on the day itself due to his work commitments and my case, a tea ceremony to attend to witness Russell Wong and Flora Zeta accepting Matilda as their God-Daughter. Everything went well! And was a good experience for me.

Right now, I'm actually fretting over Rubes's baby shower thingy! hehe! I offered to be in charge of desserts! And I'm really excited!!

I lost my train of thoughts. Just sent 4 resumes. Lol. I need moolah before I can fulfill my baking wish!
